The Kelowna Women's Kickboxing program was created by Sarah Draht. She has taught and trained kickboxing, boxing, sanshou and MMA over the course of 10 years.


It was her goal to create and run a program where the kickboxing techniques taught and the strength and conditioning that are achieved through this training are incomparable and untouched. The quality of the instruction is focused on the actual techniques fighters use in competition, so if the ladies are training just for fitness, or if they eventually want to compete, both goals are achieved. Ladies training can learn the real art of Muay Thai, whether it's for fitness, or for competition, these classes will take you where you need to be.

No experience required

No expectations, no comparisons, no boundaries. This goes for all the class and all the members. Constantly I am setting up absolutely amazing goals, things are that incredible that the human body can achieve. The girls don't realize how incredible what they are doing is, because it becomes 'normal' to them in class. I have been very careful to design a structure and program that is incredibly welcoming, encouraging, and any feedback is positive feedback with constructive criticism.

Sometimes people don't believe in themselves, and that's okay. . . For awhile.

I, however, believe in my students, and know what they are capable of doing, even if they aren't aware yet. And sometimes it takes someone else believing in you before you believe in yourself. Every single time a new student walks in the door to try a class, I am so excited. Why, you may ask? Because I do not see only where they are now, I also see where they will be in a year, and it is nothing short of exciting and awesome at the same time. Every time.

The results have absolutely blown me away as I have developed and adapted this method of teaching. This is by far the most incredible group of people coming together for the same purpose: To train hard, relieve stress, and have fun. I wouldn't change my job for the world.

What does a regular class entail?

The structure of every class is designed to build the body behind a phenomenal kickboxer, focusing on improving strength, speed, and agility. The second half of the class focuses on the technique, cardio, and stamina. Although the goals set in this class are challenging, they are far from un-achievable. Countless times, the students are amazed at what they can do through the course of attending their two to three classes a week (sometimes more!). Some ladies walk in the door and could not do a pushup: now they are accomplishing more than they ever thought possible with how powerful their bodies are.

She does this so she can meet you and be with you as you begin your journey.

She always goes above and beyond in what she does. When we ask her why, she just laughs and says 'When people are curious about my passion, I am so excited to teach them what I know. I am also excited to see kickboxing and training positively affect every aspect of their life, as it has mine. I want to be with them when they start their journey. I have never looked back and I know they won't either. Beginning to train is, hands down, the best decision anyone can ever make for themselves. And it is so exciting when they make that decision to get started.

The Kelowna's Women's Kickboxing Program is designed to meet every student where they are at and focus on improving them from there. Some ladies struggle to do a pushup when the walk in the door and that is okay! Some ladies may never compete and that is fine! And some ladies train just for stress relief, a break from the outside world, and that is great too! A quote from our head instructor herself about new ladies coming into the Women's Only Kickboxing Program:
