Pacific Top Team was originally started in 2013 by a group of friends and training partners to share their passion for MMA and Jiu-Jitsu with the world, while providing a high level of instruction and family-friendly atmosphere. What started with just 8 members, has now grown to multiple locations in the USA and Canada, and still growing!
Our methods are world class, and our philosophy is to have the cleanest, most up-to-date facilities, while maintaining that our members are…. well, our family!
Jorden opened his first location (Gracie Barra Kelowna) in 2008. In 2013 he decided to part ways with the franchise and create his own brand with a group of friends called Pacific Top Team. He had a clear goal in mind, to create a family orientated facility with a healthy growth environment. Within this structure we wanted to offer something for everyone in a safe and clean environment, with effective coaching and amazing camaraderie. Jordan has more than achieved their goals for people like you.
Pacific Top Team Martial Arts Kelowna is the largest Martial Arts Academy in Canada, offering youth brazilian jiu-jitsu classes (from ages 3-15), adult co-ed classes in both Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, Women’s Only Muay Thai, and so much more. The benefits of training in these martial arts go far beyond improving the physical aspects of an individual’s life. The martial art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai Kickboxing are truly a vehicle for self-development and character building.
Training on a regular basis instills many traits Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai practitioners embrace as they embark on the journey and the lifestyle it yields. A person will find these martial arts are very comprehensive and conceptual, allowing the mind to be present, directing attention to problem solving which yields results on and off the mats. While practicing techniques and applying them in class an individual will be giving themselves a complete full body workout, improving cardio, strength, flexibility, and endurance.
You will be adding far more to your life than just a workout. The combination of these martial arts and our skilled team will gear you towards the healthy lifestyle and the camaraderie that come hand in hand in training in the martial arts at PTT.

Justin is not only an amazing instructor, he also challenges himself by competing on a regular basis in Jiu-Jitsu and MMA. He continues to be a leader and an inspiration for his students on and off the mats.
I started training in November 2009 at the age of 15. I always had an interest in Martial Arts and sports growing up but I was a heavier kid with very little confidence. One of my friends (shout out to Jesse) started training and said it was awesome for self-defence and losing weight, so I thought I’d give it a try. After my first class, I was so gassed and got tapped out so effortlessly. I was fascinated and instantly hooked. Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai have changed my life completely. It helped me dramatically with losing weight, building confidence, reducing anxiety and enhancing my self-esteem. These are benefits that Martial Arts and Jiu-Jitsu in particular can offer to anyone who is willing to take the time and put in the effort. For me specifically, it has given my life a lot of meaning and purpose. It has given me both an avenue to forge and better myself but I’ve also been able to help and teach others. It has opened up so many opportunities for me as a competitor and instructor. My favourite part of instructing is simply the fact that I get to share something that I am so passionate about. I know what martial arts has done for me and I get excited about passing on the knowledge.
I think everyone in one way or another can benefit from training martial arts. It is such a powerful tool and, depending on your desired intensity, it can push you mentally, emotionally and physically. Whether you are a full-time athlete or at a fundamental level of training, it is a way to connect the mind and body, all while learning awesome self-defence skills, blowing off steam and strengthening yourself.
Head Muay Thai Instructor
Coach Adolfo Lozano
Adolfo Lozano is the head instructor for the Muay Thai Program for Pacific Top Team Kelowna. A past World Champion in Muay Thai, National Coach for Mexico, Switzerland & Thailand. Adolfo holds a black belt in kickboxing and Taekwondo, a Red Prayat in Muay Thai and a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His competition and instructing experience are world class and world-renowned hands down.
I have been training for most of my life and teaching for over 20 years. Martial arts has been amazing for me because it has helped me with coordination, self-discipline, and focus. Training has been a positive influence in my life in terms of encouraging me to eat healthy so I could train harder, cross train so I could prevent injury and enhance performance and it has led me to surround myself with amazing people. I continue to better myself on and off the mats. My dad used to always say “healthy body, healthy mind.” Train martial arts, eat healthy, cross-train and your quality of life will go way up.
One of my favourite parts of instructing is watching my students progress. It is incredibly rewarding to teach them something new, see them execute it in sparring and then see the excitement in their faces when they’ve mastered the skill.
Martial arts is good for everyone because it improves the quality of life. Through my journey I have had experiences and opportunities I never otherwise would have had. Training, attending events and seminars and travelling all over the world. I probably would never have left Mexico if it weren’t for Martial Arts. It has changed my life for the better.
Assistant Jiu-Jitsu Instructor
Coach Amreek Aujla-Fieldt
I started training when I was eight years old in the kids program, I worked my way through all of the belts up to brown belt. My older brother Justin started and eventually got my little brother (Karm) and I into it. Jiu-Jitsu has changed my life in so many ways. It has taught me to be dedicated, respectful and most importantly to give back and help the community at the academy grow together. My favourite part of instructing is helping others learn and helping people become more positive and confident. I think everyone should train Jiu-Jitsu because it humbles you and teaches you respect.
Assistant Muay Thai Instructor
Coach John Dyck
After watching the Karate Kid on VHS, John Dyck was inspired to take on his own bullying issues at school. He got a paper route and used the money to sign up for a local Karate gym that taught the form of Isshin-Ryu. In the early 90’s he got his driver’s license and, at his sensei’s suggestion, started driving to a neighboring town to cross train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Upon graduation of high school, John moved to Vernon BC where he used his experience in cross training martial arts to begin training in MMA. He trained daily in Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling and Muay Thai. It was Muay Thai that came most naturally to him and he embraced the culture taught to him by his Thai instructor.
After years of MMA, John decided to quit fighting arts completely. He moved to Vancouver and then eventually back to Kelowna where he saw a printed advertisement hanging up for a new Muay Thai gym. The itch to train returned and he decided to check it out. After years training there, the gym closed. This led to an opportunity to train and teach Muay Thai at another local gym in Kelowna. After even more years of that, he found himself training and teaching Muay Thai at Kelowna’s Pacific Top Team under the tutelage of former world champion Adolfo Lozano. In total, John has well over a decade of experience in the art of Muay Thai and over two decades of experience in martial arts.
